“Okay, we’re fine with Isiah finishing out this miserable season as long as we imagine the last eight games as a sort of updated, well-paid version of getting thrown in the stocks and flayed.”

“My guess is that they’ll keep him for the rest of the season and send him on his backside once the NBA Playoffs begin.”

“The thing that would piss me off if I was a Knicks fan would be that they’ve been asking for Isiah to get fired for years now, and he continued to make stupid deals that increased their cap figure every season. It’s about time Dolan realized what has to be done, let’s just hope it doesn’t take as long for Walsh to realize it as well.”

“I’m saying ‘KEEP ISIAH.’ I was born and raised in Detroit and saw ‘the captain’ lead the Detroit Pistons to greatness! It’s a matter of time before he leads the NY Knicks to greatness!”

“Walsh is a great move by the Knicks brass. I’ll miss seeing Isiah’s smirk while he runs the franchise into the ground.”

BUILDING THE BUZZ: Sports Media Challenge's Buzz Manager analyzed the online buzz about Thomas. Bloggers who think Thomas will stay with the team in some capacity were counted as positive, representing 15.38% of the posts. The topic ranked 7 out of 10 on the buzz, indicating a high level of interest.

  • The majority of bloggers believe firing Thomas from both his head coaching and GM duties is the only way to revive the once proud franchise. These fans believe Walsh will likely fire Thomas as soon as the regular season comes to an end.
  • Several bloggers are already acting under the assumption that Thomas will no longer be with the Knicks after this season ends. These bloggers are writing posts that pay tribute to the much maligned tenure of the coach while in N.Y.
  • Several fans reminded their readers that Walsh saw fit to hire Thomas as the head coach of the Pacers in '00. They think Walsh’s hire was strategic and it’s entirely possible that Thomas will remain with the Knicks in some capacity.
