TBS Adds Darling To Lineup Of
Baseball Anaylsts This Season |
TBS for MLB coverage this season has added Mets analyst Ron Darling and Orioles analyst Buck Martinez to its lineup of baseball commentators. Both will be paired with play-by-play announcer Chip Caray. Darling, who calls games on SNY throughout the year, will work during the regular season and for LDS and ALCS coverage, while Martinez will work with Caray during the net's "Sunday MLB on TBS" afternoon telecasts. Field reporter Craig Sager will report during select games throughout the regular season and studio host Ernie Johnson will make select appearances from TBS' in-game studio highlight show (Turner).
SUNDAY BASEBALL: USA TODAY's Michael Hiestand reports TBS this season also will replace Braves' broadcasts with the 26-week package of Sunday afternoon games that can include any teams, beginning April 6 with Red Sox-Blue Jays. Under the new package, TBS can "show any single team as many as 13 times," and Hiestand notes so far, the Red Sox and Yankees "make the most appearances" (USA TODAY, 3/27).
