Angelos Willing To Help Pay For
New Presidential Primary In Michigan
Orioles Owner PETER ANGELOS is one of several "wealthy Democrats" -- all of whom have ties to U.S. Sen. and presidential candidate Hillary Clinton (D-NY) -- who have offered "to pay for a new presidential primary in Michigan." Angelos and the other donors have "offered to put up $12[M]" to pay for a new election in June (USA TODAY, 3/20).

RACING COMMUNITY: NASCAR drivers TONY STEWART, ELLIOT SADLER and DENNY HAMLIN, crew chief GREG ZIPADELLI and Fox' JEFF HAMMOND last week joined an advisory board for Sheridan Ridge Private Reserve, a 1,400-acre-plus resort community to be located in Virginia. Each will make a home in the new development and their duties will include "weighing in on the property's planned amenities, as well as introducing individuals to the unique lifestyle" of the community (NASCAR.com, 3/19).

NAMES: Miss America '08 KIRSTEN HAGLUND will perform the National Anthem and "God Bless America," as well as throw out the first pitch, at the Royals-Tigers Opening Day game on March 31 at Comerica Park. Haglund represented Michigan in the pageant (Tigers)....The U.S. Postal Service in West Virginia "will start selling envelopes with a picture" of Patriots WR RANDY MOSS on the front. Only 5,000 of the stamps will be printed and they will sell for $6. The envelopes will include Moss' '07 NFL stats (DETROIT FREE PRESS, 3/20)....Churchill Downs Inc. has partnered with Truly Indie and filmmakers JOHN & BRAD HENNEGAN to distribute their documentary, "The First Saturday in May," to theaters beginning April 18 for a week-long national run in 18 major markets. Truly Indie is part of the Wagner/Cuban Companies co-owned by TODD WAGNER and Mavericks Owner MARK CUBAN (Kentucky Derby).
