Interim President ALAN PACE will continue to be a Partner in the club’s parent company, SCP Worldwide, overseeing new soccer-related business ventures for the company (RSL)....The WNBA Comets named ROBERT MCGAHIE to the newly created position of President & COO, reporting to Comets Owner & CEO HILTON KOCH. McGahie has served as interim COO since November ’07 (Comets).
EXECS: Electronic Arts named JOHN PLEASANTS COO. Pleasants, who will report to EA CEO JOHN RICCITIELLO, will lead the company’s publishing organization, corporate communications and government affairs, as well as the online, central development and technology teams (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 3/18).....The UFC named RANDY KLEIN VP/Licensing & Merchandising for Zuffa. Klein will be responsible for building and maintaining the brand image of UFC, World Extreme Cagefighting, PRIDE and other company-owned brands. Most recently, Klein was Head of Domestic Licensing for DreamWorks Animation (UFC)....ESPN promoted Senior Dir of Digital Sales LISA VALENTINO to VP/Digital Sales and Senior Dir of Asset Management STEVE TAKEUCHI to VP/Sales Planning & Asset Management. Both will be based in N.Y. (ESPN)....The MLS Earthquakes named Santa Clara Univ. Dir of Media Relations JED METTEE Dir of Broadcasting & Communications. Mettee previously spent five seasons with the team from ’01-05 (Earthquakes).
