U.S. Bowling Congress Plans To Move HQs To Arlington

The U.S. Bowling Congress (USBC) plans to relocate its HQs from Milwaukee to Arlington, Texas, where it can be “housed on the same campus of its sister organization, the Bowling Proprietors’ Association of America,” according to Suzanne Marta of the DALLAS MORNING NEWS. The two groups are “planning a $14[M] campus that would include corporate offices and a 12- to 16-lane testing and training facility.” USBC has applied for a $675,000 grant from the Texas enterprise fund, and the deal is “contingent upon that funding” (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 3/12). USBC President Jeff Boje said that “several factors gave [Arlington] an advantage: proximity to another major bowling organization; a choice piece of property; warmer weather; and a better business environment.” USBC spokesperson Mark Miller said that all 195 USBC employees are being offered jobs in Arlington. The organization “estimates that 30 to 50 will make the move” (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 3/12).
