Kern Gets Rights To Put Minor League Teams In Dallas-Ft. Worth

AFL Storm Minority Owner Woody Kern has become the first Revolution Sports & Entertainment franchisee, acquiring the rights to put new minor league teams in the Dallas-Ft. Worth market. The Revolution group, based in Columbus, Ohio, is creating leagues in lacrosse, indoor football, hockey and team boxing over the next two years and selling franchises in each sport for $150,000. The specific sports for which Kern will place Revolution teams in Texas have not been determined. Hicks Sports Marketing has shown interest in booking Revolution lacrosse at two arenas tied to MLB Rangers and Stars owner Tom Hicks: Deja Blue Arena in Frisco, a Dallas suburb, and a new 6,500-seat arena Hicks plans to build in Cedar Park, an Austin suburb.
