Proceeds From Carroll's New
Clothing Line To Benefit Charity
In L.A., Adam Rose reported USC football coach Pete Carroll "has his own line of clothing." The apparel, which is available on PeteCarroll.com, has appeared on people "connected with the USC football team for the last few months" but was not available to the public until recently. The words "USC" and "Trojans" are "not on any of the items," and the Trojan helmet logo used on several shirts is "not the official one endorsed by the school." The logo used is "endorsed by Carroll and his signature is on most items." Proceeds will support Carroll's charity, A Better L.A. (LATIMES.com, 2/26).

NOT SAUCE: ESPN.com's Bob Harig reported PGA Tour member Woody Austin is no longer wearing Tabasco shirts with "wild prints." Austin: "The Tabasco people were tired of y'all in the media ripping my shirts, so they got out of it. They said they were tired of the negative publicity, so they got out. They told me I could wear Tabasco shirts but I couldn't wear those anymore" (ESPN.com, 2/25).

DRIVE ON: Chip Ganassi Racing Owner Chip Ganassi, in a Q&A with NASCAR.com's Dave Rodman, when asked if NASCAR is "still a good buy for sponsors," said: "One of the things that my sales people are telling me is the difference is, we are not losing sponsors to other teams -- we are losing them to them not being in the sport. We're not losing them to Hendrick or Roush or anybody. ... I can tell you that it's a difficult sales market right now" (NASCAR.com, 2/26).
