Cavaliers See Surge In Ticket & Retail Sales With Player Additions

Cavaliers Seeing Increase In Ticket, Retail
Sales Following Recent Blockbuster Trade
The Cavaliers have experienced an increase in retail sales after acquiring C Ben Wallace, F Wally Szczerbiak, F Joe Smith and G Delonte West last week. The team tied the mark for highest sales-volume game of the season with Sunday's game against the Grizzlies and shattered three records for site and unique visits to its Web site. The Web site also broke the record for most visits over a five-day span from February 21-25. The team has seen an increase in ticket sales for its remaining home games and for early season-ticket renewals for the '08-09 season. Online sales at cavaliersteamshop.com tripled since the trade, including pre-sale replica jerseys and select T-shirts of the new players. The team promoted the new players by presenting fans in attendance at Sunday's game against the Grizzlies, the first game in which they played, with an "All For One. One For All" cheer card that included the message "Welcome to the Family" on the back of the card (Cavaliers).

RATINGS: In Cleveland, Mary Boyer writes the Cavaliers' Web site for the Grizzlies-Cavaliers game "saw double the amount of Web traffic typical for the site on a game day." Boyer notes FSN Ohio had its highest rating of the season for that game at 7.1 (Cleveland PLAIN DEALER, 2/27).
