Reebok To Sponsor NFL Network's Scouting Combine Coverage
By John Ourand, Staff Writer
For the second consecutive year, Reebok has signed on as presenting sponsor for NFL Network's coverage of the NFL scouting combine. Reebok will have all the signage around the event, and the athletes will wear Reebok's official NFL equipment gear. The brand also will have on-set logos and signage visible during NFL Network's news show "NFL Total Access," and its pre-roll commercial will run before coverage on NFL.com. NFL Net and NFL.com VP/Media Sales David Pattillo: "Where you have an opportunity to see signage, Reebok will be there. We've cleared the runway for Reebok." Pattillo could not break down how much Reebok's presenting sponsorship was worth, saying it is part of the company's NFL deal as the league's official equipment and apparel sponsor. But he said Reebok, which was a presenting sponsor for the combine last year, will be much more visible at this year's event. Pattillo: "This is the first year they've harnessed it and marketed around it. We want them to be a long-term partner." The combine has turned into one of NFL Net's most popular offseason shows. This year, NFL Net is planning 26 hours of coverage, starting February 21 from Indianapolis. The network will use 12 cameras to cover press conferences, weigh-ins, 40-yard dashes and bench presses. NFL.com will offer live feeds. Pattillo: "This event has become a huge tent pole for us. If you watch this program, it's addictive."
