The NFL today named Anthony Noto Exec VP & CFO. Noto is a Partner and Managing Dir of the communication, media and entertainment equity research business unit at Goldman Sachs. The league has been without a CFO since '04 when Barbara Kaczynski departed. Noto, the top media and entertainment analyst at Goldman Sachs, will oversee league-wide finance and strategy functions, including corporate development, labor finance, operational finance plus accounting, tax and treasury. He will begin at the NFL February 24 and report to Commissioner Roger Goodell. Since joining Goldman Sachs in '99, Noto has become a top-ranked equity analyst. Noto joined Goldman Sachs from Lehman Bros. where he was an analyst covering the retailing sector. Previously, Noto was a brand manager at Kraft Foods, and a captain in the U.S. Army. Noto becomes the second senior NFL exec to hail from Goldman Sachs. Eric Grubman, Exec VP & President of NFL Ventures, also was a partner at Goldman Sachs, where he advised on several NFL team sales.
