Davis Exec Producing Documentary On Gangs
SILVER SCREEN: Warriors G BARON DAVIS is the exec producer of "MADE IN AMERICA," a feature film set to debut at this year's Sundance Film Festival. Director STACY PERALTA said that the documentary "traces the emergence of the Crips and the Bloods, two notorious gangs," and it is narrated by actor FOREST WHITAKER (USA TODAY, 1/16)....Whitaker has also signed on to star in and direct the Weinstein Co.'s "PATRIOTS." The movie will focus on John Ehret High School in Marrero, Louisiana, winning the state 5A boys basketball championship a year after Hurricane Katrina (DAILY VARIETY, 1/16).

NAMES: SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL's Liz Mullen reports Octagon has signed Bengals coach MARVIN LEWIS, Jaguars coach JACK DEL RIO and Chiefs coach HERM EDWARDS for on- and off-field representation. Del Rio and Edwards were previously with IMG, while Lewis has been without an agent. Octagon President of Athletes & Personalities PHIL DE PICCIOTTO will be the lead rep (SBJ, 1/14 issue)….Brooklyn NY Holdings (BNYH), an asset and investment management company operated by the LERNER FAMILY, on October 31 completed an investment of both debt and equity in Arena Media Networks (AMN). AMN owns and operates the largest U.S. network of digital displays in sports and entertainment venues (AMN)…. English national soccer team coach FABIO CAPELLO has been "forced to reassure the [FA] that his tax payments are in order, after reports emerged that he is being investigated for tax fraud by Italian prosecutors." The probe "is said to relate to Capello's time as coach of [Serie A clubs] AS Roma and Juventus sparking fears" that Capello will be "dragged through the Italian courts in an effort to prove his innocence" (REUTERS, 1/16).
