In Dallas, Steve Brown reports that Texas-based developers Sports Village USA and UDC Hospitality have announced plans to build a $100M sports village in Frisco, Texas. The 50-acre project will include sports facilities, a hotel, office space and retail, and the first phase will open in December (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 1/16).

MONSTER MOVE: In Boston, Dan Shaughnessy reports that the "Coke bottles most likely will not be on the Green Monster this summer," and instead will be relocated to "another light tower" (BOSTON GLOBE, 1/16).

BIG & RICH: Greater Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce President Roy Williams, Chair Larry Nichols and Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett yesterday launched the "Citizens for a Big League City" campaign to "convince voters to support a March 4 sales tax initiative to pay for Ford Center improvements." The 15-month sales tax would "pay for about $100[M] in improvements to the Ford Center, along with a $20[M] practice facility" (DAILY OKLAHOMAN, 1/16).

COLONIAL DAZE: In Richmond, Joe Macenka reported that Colonial Downs Racetrack Owner & Jacobs Entertainment CEO Jeff Jacobs plans to put the track up for sale in order to reposition his company's racetrack portfolio to include "only facilities that feature multiple forms of gaming." Jacobs: "We have been unable to secure the tools necessary to allow us to grow live racing in Virginia to its full potential" (RICHMOND TIMES-DISPATCH, 1/12).
