MSG Drops Ticket Prices For Saturday's Jones Jr.-Trinidad Bout

MSG Dropping Ticket Prices For
Jones' Upcoming Bout With Trinidad
Madison Square Garden has lowered ticket prices for Saturday's Roy Jones Jr.-Felix Trinidad boxing match, reducing the "highest priced ticket from $15,000 to $5,000 for a ringside seat," according to George Willis of the N.Y. POST.  MSG officials said that the adjustment was made "in hopes of improving ticket sales" for the event.  MSG "initially set the five-figure prices to recoup the reported $8[M] it paid as a site fee for the event."  In addition to the reduced price for the $15,000 front-row ticket, second-row seats originally priced at $12,500 have been reduced to $3,500.  The lowest-priced seat is now $100.  The fight is being promoted by Don King.  Proceeds on special promotions from the fight will benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure of Breast Cancer Foundation. The bout is being televised on HBO PPV for $49.95 (N.Y. POST, 1/16).
