AEG Live has “entered into an exclusive three-year agreement with Qualcomm Stadium to stage an annual outdoor concert series” on the site of the Chargers’ former practice field in Mission Valley, California. The series will be called AEG Live Concerts on the Green, and the venue will have a capacity of 13,000 (SAN DIEGO UNION-TRIBUNE, 12/19).

STAYING ON TRAX: Maryland Racing Commission Chair John Franzone said that the organization will ask for $24-30M from the state during the next legislative session as an “alternative funding source to supplement race purses.” The industry will “target revenue from a Maryland Lottery game called Racetrax, an animated Keno-like game that simulates horse races and was rolled out to 1,500 lottery outlets in August 2006” (WASHINGTON POST, 12/19).

DUCK SOUP: In Portland, Rachel Bachman cites a report issued on the Univ. of Oregon’s planned 12,500-seat, $200M arena that reveals “at least 60[%] of the 12,500 seats will be reserved for annual or one-time donors.” Most of the arena’s seats would also require a “one-time construction fee” of $500-25,000 payable over three years. In all, 7,800 seats would go to annual donors or those who paid a construction fee, leaving about 1,600 seats for general admission and 1,900 for UO students (Portland OREGONIAN, 12/18).
