Lexus Sponsors Wachovia Center Lots In Tenth Parking Deal
Lexus has signed a three-year marketing deal with Comcast-Spectacor, under which Lexus drivers will be able to park in one of two Lexus-branded lots at the Wachovia Center. Also as part of the deal, Lexus will receive signage inside the building, where the company already owns naming rights to the arena's courtside club. In addition, Lexus ads will air during Flyers and 76ers broadcasts on Comcast SportsNet, which will also air a Lexus-sponsored "Sports $ense" segment with financial sports news (Comcast-Spectacor). SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL's Don Muret reports that the designated spots allow Lexus drivers to "park for free in 300 spots near the arena doors." A Lexus spokesperson said that the deal is the company's fourth parking lot exclusive and that "there are 10 other deals where Lexus has some form of parking naming-rights agreement" (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 12/10 issue).
