Looking For Green: Celtics Issuing RFP For Presenting Sponsor
The Celtics "have been selectively issuing a request for proposal for a presenting sponsorship deal that also includes the postseason," and they are looking for more than $1M annually and a multi-year deal, according to John Lombardo of the SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL. One industry exec said that seven-figure sponsorships "rank in the top 5[%] of team deals." Eight other NBA teams have secured presenting sponsors for the '07-08 season: Suns, Cavaliers, Raptors, Nets, Spurs, Hornets, Pistons and Bulls. Sources also said that the Knicks are negotiating a presenting sponsorship deal with T-Mobile (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 12/3 issue).
