NBA Average Ticket Prices Up 3.6% This Year; Fan Cost Index Up 2.6%

Lakers Have Most Expensive Ticket
In NBA For Fourth Straight Year
Average ticket prices for NBA games this season are $48.83, up 3.6% from last season, according to Team Marketing Report. The Lakers remain the priciest ticket in the league with an average of $89.24, up 4.5% from last year.  This marks the sixth straight year the Lakers have topped the list. Only the Patriots ($90.89) have a higher average ticket price across the four major leagues. While the average NBA ticket approaches $50, more than one million tickets are available this season for $10 or less, with several teams offering $5 tickets. All but two '07 playoff teams increased prices, with five reporting double-digit price increases. The Lakers also dominate the Fan Cost Index (FCI) at $453.95, well above the average of $281.90. The NBA FCI comprises the prices of four average-price tickets, two small draft beers, four small soft drinks, four regular-size hot dogs, parking for one car, two game programs and two least-expensive, adult-size adjustable caps. The following presents average ticket prices and FCI for all NBA teams for the '07-08 regular season, with comparisons to last year (Team Marketing Report).
