Not Gonna Take It: A-B Responds To Miller's TV Spoof

Anheuser-Busch yesterday in the USA Today sports section and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch A section "rolled out its response" to a new Miller TV spot spoofing an A-B spot from Super Bowl XLI, according to Jeremiah McWilliams of the ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH. The full-page ad "touted a donation by [A-B] to animal rescue groups across the country" with a Dalmatian puppy at the bottom of the page. The ad read in big type: "Keep up the bad work Miller Beer. It's getting a lot of good things done." The ad continued: "Apparently, Miller Beer believes they have to say negative things about our brands to sell their beer. At Budweiser, we're positive there's a better way of doing things." A-B VP/Marketing Dave Peacock in a statement said the company "decided to turn (Miller's) negative into a positive gesture from us" (STLTODAY.com, 11/6).
