SonicsCentral

“A judge today found in favor of the city and the fans and denied the Sonics request for arbitration in breaking their lease. In addition he managed to throw a couple of good quotes into his ruling. … When the history of this battle is written people will realize what big wins “A Deal is a Deal” and this ruling were. They have allowed us as a city to hold the line, fight back against the powers trying to steal our teams.”
Detroit Bad Boys

“David Stern’s response -- he wasn’t happy, of course, but doesn’t seem inclined to make a big deal out of things (“I think sometimes different players do different things to get themselves prepared for a season,” he said). In any case, as much as some people have jumped on the “Rasheed thinks the NBA is fixed!” angle, don’t forget that he started his little riff by claiming responsibility for the series loss.”
YAYsports! NBA

“In a storyline cut straight from ‘The Bourne Supremacy’, or ‘The Bourne Identity’, we all know that the NBA had a ‘rogue ref’ gambling issue this past off-season. Some ‘rogue ref’ was patrolling through the land laying down bets on NBA games that he was working, blah, blah, blah. While that story has kind of faded away since the ‘rogue ref’ lost his job, and the life he lived, it looks like the gambling issue is back….and David Stern is telling the refs to go ahead and roll snake eyes.”
