WFAN's Mid-Day Show Improves In Arbitron Ratings

In Arbitron's summer ratings book, WFAN-AM’s mid-day radio show featuring Joe Benigno and Evan Roberts earned a 6.0 share in the N.Y. market among men 25-54, "good for No. 2 in the market," according to Bob Raissman of the N.Y. DAILY NEWS.  It represents WFAN’s highest mid-day rating since ’95, when the 10:00am-1:00pm ET slot featured Steve Somers and Russ Salzburg. By comparison, ESPN Radio 1050-N.Y. mid-day show featuring Max Kellerman and Stephen A. Smith earned a 1.6 share in the demo. WFAN’s afternoon show featuring Mike Francesa and Chris Russo was first in the market among men 25-54, earning a 6.9 share, up from 6.2 in ’06, compared with a 1.7 share for 1050’s Michael Kay show, up from 1.2 in summer ’06.  In two-and-a-half weeks of broadcasting, WFAN-AM’s new morning team of Boomer Esiason and Craig Carton earned a 4.1 share among men 25-54, compared to a 1.2 for ESPN 1050’s “Mike & Mike”  (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 10/21).
