Winston-Salem Replaces Greensboro As Stop On PBR's Top Series

PBR CEO Randy Bernard was in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, this morning to announce that the PBR will hold an event at the 14,000-seat Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum on February 1-2. That event, part of the PBR’s top-level Built Ford Tough Series, replaces a Greensboro, North Carolina, stop in September. “With that September date, we were competing with football and NASCAR,” said Bernard. “Now we’ll be there before NASCAR starts and when football is over except for the Super Bowl.”  Bernard said officials in Winston-Salem were “very aggressive” in wooing the PBR, not only giving Bernard the date he wanted, but pledging to help make the weekend a success. “We’re asking for more support from the cities we visit,” said Bernard. “And it’s not so much dollars, but advertising and promotion and help making it a big deal in their city.” Winston-Salem Mayor Allen Joines said in a statement, “The exposure this event will give Winston-Salem to the millions of PBR television viewers is priceless.”
