Two More Employees To File Discrimination Suits Against MSG
Two African-American female former security supervisors will be “filing a racial discrimination suit” against MSG in New York State Supreme Court next week, according to Anthony Destefano of NEWSDAY. Diane Henson yesterday said that MSG is an “out-of-control workplace where some women employees got promoted because they had affairs with supervisors.” Henson: “Sleeping for promotions is very widespread.” She said that she “became the object of retaliation after she complained about a lack of advancement and poor job assignments for black women who worked in security.” Henson said that she had an “unblemished record until 2005, when her supervisors told her they had unearthed an old report of wrongdoing for which she had never been disciplined.” After that incident, Henson said that she was given “less attractive security posts in the upper level seating areas.” The second woman filing the suit did not want to be identified; MSG declined to comment (NEWSDAY, 10/9).
STIRRED, NOT SHAKEN: Following a report yesterday in the N.Y. POST’s Page Six that Cablevision Chair Charles Dolan was “planning a major shakeup” at MSG, the Dolans issued a statement that read, “The management and leadership of the company will continue to be firmly in place” (N.Y. POST, 10/9).
BUTT OF JOKES: NBC's Jay Leno said, "This is the first full week of NBA training camp. Everybody’s a little rusty after the long time off. In fact, today, Knicks coach Isiah Thomas went to grab a female executive’s ass and missed” (“The Tonight Show,” NBC, 10/8).
