Fenway Park To Become Greener Under Red Sox' New Partnership

The Red Sox announced Thursday a five-year partnership with non-profit environmental group National Resources Defense Council that will “help the Sox on an array of green initiatives" at Fenway Park, according to Scott Van Voorhis of the BOSTON HERALD. One of the “biggest changes being contemplated” is a fifth-inning recycling break, during which ushers and security will “go through the aisles with bins” to collect recyclables. Bins will also be placed throughout the ballpark starting Tuesday. Team execs are also “weighing whether to install” solar panels on the fifth-level roof (BOSTON HERALD, 9/21).
