Jones Says 2011 Super Bowl At New
Cowboys Stadium Will Be Biggest Ever |
Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones said that he is working "to ensure that Super Bowl XLV has the largest attendance of any NFL title game," according to Jeff Mosier of the DALLAS MORNING NEWS. Jones estimated attendance of 110,000-115,000 for the 2011 game in the new Cowboys stadium, which would surpass the previous record of 100,000 for Super Bowl XIV at the Rose Bowl. Jones: "We're going to do what we need to make it the biggest." The North Texas Commission event at which Jones spoke "focused on the regional cooperation and benefits for all local cities" and included others involved in the 2011 Super Bowl bid. Bid committee consultant Robert Dale Morgan indicated that the Super Bowl is expected to bring the region "at least a $400[M] economic impact, 2,000 temporary jobs and the unparalleled visibility that comes with 1 billion television viewers" (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 9/21). Jones said the new stadium "has the ability to be the most visible ... building that anybody is going to see over the next 20 and 30 and 40 years" (FT. WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM, 9/21).
