NFL Season Preview

Bills Hit 14-Year Season-Ticket High, Sell out Five Games

Bills Eyeing Sellout Of All
Home Games This Season
The Bills have sold 48,236 season tickets, over 5,000 more than last season, according to Gene Warner of the BUFFALO NEWS. Bills Exec VP/Business Operations Russ Brandon: “It represents a 12[%] increase from last year, and it is our highest season-ticket total since 1993.” Warner adds the team has also sold out five of its eight home games, and there are only 15,000 individual game tickets available for the whole season. Selling out the Dolphins game in Week 10 and Giants in Week 16 “may depend on how well the team is playing and whether it’s in playoff contention once the snow flies.” Still unsold are three of the team’s 164 suites, about 200 of the 6,878 outdoor club seats and about 300 of the stadium's 1,800 indoor club seats. Team officials said that premium seat sales “are down less than 5[%] from last season, at a time when 40[%] of those club seats were up” for offseason renewal. They also said that corporate sponsorships “are up about 3[%] since last year” (BUFFALO NEWS, 9/7).

BLACKOUT WATCH: Raiders CEO Amy Trask said the team’s home opener against the Lions this Sunday “is sold out. It will be televised locally” (SAN JOSE MERCURY NEWS, 9/7).  The Jaguars and Vikings both were granted extensions by the NFL and have until today to sell out their home openers to avoid TV blackouts on Sunday (THE DAILY).
