The NHL Panthers promoted COO MICHAEL YORMARK to President (Panthers)....Nautilus President & CEO GREGG HAMMANN stepped down, "ending a four-year turnaround effort that repeatedly failed to meet Wall Street's expectations." The company named former Nike CFO ROBERT FALCONE, its lead independent BOD member, as interim CEO. Falcone is currently President & CEO of Portland-based market research firm GCR Custom Research (OREGONLIVE.com, 8/13)....Nike named JILL STANTON -- who previously led the Europe, Middle East and Africa region apparel business -- VP/Apparel for the U.S. The company also named MARY KATE BUCKLEY, who led Nike's Americas region, VP/Apparel for Europe, Middle East & Africa (REUTERS, 8/13)....ESPN.com hired former L.A. Times writer J.A. ADANDE and former Washington Post and Boston Herald writer HOWARD BRYANT as Senior Writers. Adande will cover the NBA and other sports and write columns, while Bryant will mix columns with investigative reporting and long-form narrative. Bryant will also contribute to ESPN The Magazine and appear on ESPN assets. Adande will continue to appear on "Around The Horn" and expand his presence as an ESPN commentator (ESPN).

RING TOSS: The IOC named ESSAR GABRIEL head of the inaugural Youth Olympic Games in 2010. Gabriel will work under Olympic Games Exec Dir GILBERT FELLI. Previously, Gabriel consulted Tokyo on its 2016 Olympic bid (AROUNDTHERINGS.com, 8/13)....Calgary Olympic Development Association (CODA) CEO BOB NICOLAY resigned after 15 months.  CODA COO JIM YOUNKER will assume his duties September 15 on an interim basis. The search for a replacement is expected to last 3-6 months (CALGARY HERALD, 8/14)....USA Baseball named JAKE FEHLING Dir of Media & PR. Previously, Fehling was in the sales and marketing department at CoSport (USA Baseball).

MSG: Screenvision named MSG Exec VP/Advertising Sales MICHAEL CHICO Exec VP/Sales (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 8/14)....CHRIS MONTELEONE was named to the newly-created position of MSG Interactive VP/Distribution Marketing. MSG Interactive is the digital and wireless presence for MSG arena and sports assets. Most recently, Monteleone was Dir of Digital Development & Sales for Rainbow Media (MSG).
