Patrick's New Show To Be Distributed Through Several Platforms

Content Factory Eyeing September
Launch For Patrick's New Radio Show
The Content Factory, which last week signed a five-year deal with Dan Patrick, plans to distribute his radio show across nine different platforms -- AM/FM radio, satellite and HD radio, online, TV, mobile phone, publishing, out-of-home video, retail and event marketing -- according to Teddy Greenstein of the CHICAGO TRIBUNE. Content Factory Founder Jimmy de Castro, who co-founded Evergreen Media and later was AOL Interactive Services President, “has strong connections” with Patrick’s brother, Sporting News Radio Program Dir Bill Pugh.  de Castro hopes to launch Patrick’s show on September 9, 11 days before the start of the fall ratings period.  de Castro will “offer the show to ESPN radio stations.”  He “envisions Patrick adding perhaps political or entertainment elements to his radio show, with recurring guests such as Keith Olbermann, Rick Reilly and Reggie Miller.”  de Castro: “Dan will be free from scores and the other elements that are part of the ESPN brand. Hopefully this will be a little more liberating, creatively speaking."  He added Patrick "had been a paid employee [of ESPN]. Now he owns a percentage of the radio show” (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 7/17).

JUSTICE IS SERVED: Houston Chronicle columnist Richard Justice will host a talk show on KILE-AM from 10:00am-12:00pm CT when it relaunches as all-sports station The Game this summer. Justice “hopes to pattern his show after ESPN Radio’s ‘Dan Patrick Show,’ on which he was an occasional guest." The station will change its call letters as part of the rebranding effort (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 7/18).
