GOLF WORLD's Ryan Herrington reports the USGA in recent weeks has seen "surprise exits involving two high-level employees," Senior Dir of Media Relations MARTY PARKES and Dir of Championships Agronomy TIM MORAGHAN. Sources said that Parkes "was told he was being let go during a meeting" with USGA President WALTER DRIVER and USGA Communications Committee Chair IRVING FISH prior to the U.S. Open. Sources said the departure of Moraghan after more than two decades with the USGA also "involved Driver and the executive committee" (GOLF WORLD, 7/6 issue)....The Dodgers named MZ Sports LLC VP PETER WILHELM CFO (Dodgers)....Texas Gov. RICK PERRY named Spurs Owner PETER HOLT Chair of the Texas Parks & Wildlife Commission. Holt, who is also CEO of HOLT CAT, the largest Caterpillar dealership in the U.S., has served on the nine-member commission for four years. In Houston, Janet Elliott writes seats "are cherished appointments for major campaign donors," and Holt has given $900,400 to mainly Republican candidates since '00, including $275,265 to Perry (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 7/6)....Golf For Women named ALI SALAMA Beauty & Pharmaceutical Account Manager. Salama was most recently Print Supervisor for L'Oreal at Universal McCann, and also worked at Lucent Technologies on the WUSA business (Golf For Women).
