Unilever and Burger King won the Grand Prix awards in the Film and Titanium (multimedia campaigns and new ideas) categories, respectively, on the final night of the Cannes Lions Int'l Ad Festival Saturday.  Coca-Cola won a Gold Lion for its animated spot parodying the videogame "Grand Theft Auto," via Wieden & Kennedy, that premiered during the Super Bowl and featured a character spreading "joy instead of violence with good deads and bottles of Coca-Cola" (USA TODAY, 6/25).

GOLF: LPGAer Sophie Gustafson wore a Yankees shirt and hat yesterday at the Wegmans LPGA near Rochester, New York, as part of her sponsorship with MLB in which she wears the colors of a team with geographical ties to that week's tournament (ROCHESTER DEMOCRAT & CHRONICLE, 6/25)....The PGA Tour and Barclays announced that the FedEx Cup event formerly known as the Barclays Classic will now be known simply as "The Barclays."  The event also unveiled a weekly, summer-long TV show called, "The Road to The Barclays," that will air on FSNY and MSG and be hosted by Mike Crispino (PGA Tour).

NAMES & FACES: In Chicago, Lewis Lazare gives a grade of "B+" to Pepsi's new ad, via BBDO, N.Y., in which a baseball fan pauses video of a game between the Yankees and Twins as Yankees CF Johnny Damon is "about to slide in to home plate," where Twins C Joe Mauer is preparing to catch the ball.  The scenario is "handled with a pleasingly light touch that makes the improbable absurdity of the situation almost plausible" (CHICAGO SUN-TIMES, 6/25)....Donruss/Playoff has signed Vikings rookie RB Adrian Peterson to an endorsement deal (Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE, 6/25).
