Notre Dame Receives Pledge For New Lacrosse Stadium

The Univ. of Notre Dame received a “major pledge” toward building a $5M lacrosse stadium from Denver-based Coram Inc. Chair & CEO John Arlotta, according to the INDIANAPOLIS STAR. The facility will be named Arlotta Stadium. The school did not disclose the amount of Arlotta’s donation, but a donor “must give at least 50[%] of the project cost to become a lead donor” (INDIANAPOLIS STAR, 6/5).

ARIZONA STATE: In Phoenix, Norm Frauenheim reports former PepsiCo CEO Craig Weatherup and his wife, Connie, have donated $5M to Arizona State Univ. (ASU) for a basketball practice facility. An ASU spokesperson said that the $5M contribution is the “biggest donation to ASU athletics in school history.” The facility, which could cost around $20M, will be called the Weatherup Center and is expected to open in the fall of ’08 (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 6/5).
