ESPN was the only multiple winner at the 12th annual Eppy Awards, given by Editor & Publisher and Mediaweek for the best media Web sites, claiming top spots in the sports and TV categories (HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, 5/25).

MUSCLE SPASMS: In N.Y., Keith Kelly notes the cover of the June/July issue of Men’s Fitness where ATPer Andy Roddick’s head “was attached to the body of a bulked up male model may be triggering some ... defections from staffers who object to the doctoring.” Neal Boulton, who was Editor-in-Chief at the time and approved the cover, resigned for personal reasons about a week ago and was replaced by Roy Johnson. A source said that design consultant Mary Anne Butler “resigned after objecting to the practice and staff design director John Gilman is said to be on the brink of resigning” (N.Y. POST, 5/25).

NOTES: The Big Ten Network’s first on-air hire is ESPN’s Dave Revsine, who will be the lead studio host and do some basketball play-by-play (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 5/25)....Golf Channel and Cablevision have agreed to make the network available to the MSO’s more than 2 million iO digital subscribers. The deal makes Golf Channel at least a basic digital offering on every major cable system nationwide (Golf Channel).
