Omnicom Agrees To Stop Using “Fuse” Name Until Hearing

By Tripp Mickle, Staff Writer, SportsBusiness Journal

Omnicom Group will cease all uses of the word "Fuse" in the U.S. in press releases, ads, interviews, Web sites, business cards and brochures as part of a temporary agreement in the ongoing trademark lawsuit brought against it by Fuse LLC, a Vermont-based youth and action sports marketing agency. Fuse LLC filed a trademark infringement suit against Omnicom for branding four of its sports and marketing agencies under the name “Fuse Sports & Entertainment Group.” The temporary agreement was filed with the court on May 14, two days before the parties were set for an injunction hearing in Vermont District Court. The agreement will stand until an injunction hearing is heard June 26 in Burlington, Vermont.
