Tim Hinchey Out As Bobcats Exec VP/Business Development

There is more front office turnover for the Bobcats with the sudden departure
of TIM HINCHEY, who until Wednesday was Exec VP/Business Development for
the franchise. Bobcats officials confirmed that Hinchey no longer works for the
team, but would not comment further. Hinchey is the latest executive to exit the
franchise in the past year. Other former key front-office employees who have departed
since last May include former CEO ED TAPSCOTT, COO PETER SMUL, CMO
CHRIS WEILLER and VP/PR SCOTT LEIGHTMAN. Hinchey joined the Bobcats
last April after working for the Hornets and was charged with boosting the Bobcats'
ticket sales following the team's first season in Charlotte Bobcats Arena. This
year, Bobcats attendance decreased by 5% to an average of 15,549. Overall, full-season-ticket
sales were up more than 37% through deep discounting. Paid attendance was up 18%
even though ticket revenue was only up 2.4%. Bobcats CMO GREG ECONOMOU
is assuming Hinchey's duties until a replacement is named. Hinchey could not be
reached for comment.
