With Dale Earnhardt Jr. announcing that he will leave DEI at the end of the
season, bloggers are discussing what went wrong and what the future holds for
NASCAR’s favorite son.

| “The only thing I hate to see
with this situation is that Junior is leaving the company that his father
built to carry on his legacy ... and now the only person to carry on the
DEI legacy is Teresa ... and you see what she's done to it.” |

| “I will say that I believe Teresa
is making a huge mistake letting Dale walk out the door. Whether either
of them want it to be this way, Dale Jr. is DEI. He’s their marketing
edge.” |

| “This will shake up NASCAR for
sure. Every other owner in the sport realizes what Jr’s stepmom
apparently does not. Jr is the biggest commodity in NASCAR. Well, actually,
Jr IS NASCAR. Without him, NASCAR would not be nearly as popular as
it is today.” |

| “Let me first say this will be
a very quick end to DEI because without Jr. I can’t see it surviving.
Secondly, there is going to be a circus following Jr. everywhere he goes
to try and bring him to their racing team.” |

| “Dale JR made the right decision! Teresa
Earnhardt was only interested in living off of the legacy that Dale Sr.
created and not helping Dale JR. to make a legacy of his own. I hate to
be the one to point this out but DEI has never had a stable full of championship
contenders.” |

| “Now what will DEI do? They have
lost their only money maker. Earnhardt Jr. can go just about anywhere he
wants with no problem whatsoever. People couldn’t care less who he
drives for, as long as he drives. I wonder if he will be able to keep his
sponsor Budweiser after the move.” |
