Please Accept My Apology: Pacman Runs Ad In Tennessean
Titans CB Pacman Jones bought a full-page
ad in Friday's editions of the Nashville Tennessean, in the “first public
step toward rebuilding his image” after being suspended for the entire ’07
season, according to Jim Wyatt of the TENNESSEAN. The copy reads, “To my
family, teammates, coaches and fans, I recognize that I have lost the right to
ask for your patience and understanding. However, I will do everything in my power
to regain your trust and respect.” Also in the letter, Jones confirms plans
to re-enroll at West Virginia Univ. and finish his degree, as well as his plans
to appeal the suspension. According to the newspaper’s ad rate card, a full-page
black-and-white ad in a Friday edition would cost $11,535, “although it
is unclear if Jones paid that amount” (TENNESSEAN, 4/20).
