(ESPN)....The U.S. Bowling Congress (USBC) elected former Bowling Proprietors’
of America President JEFF BOJE President and DARLENE BAKER VP (USBC)....The
Tallahassee Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (TACVB) promoted BRIAN HICKEY
to Exec Dir of the Sports Council. Hickey served as Assistant Dir from March ’05-November
’06 and has served as interim Dir since the resignation of JOHN CITRON
(TACVB)....EnCap Golf Holdings named JAMES DAUSCH to take over the
“day-to-day management” of the Meadowlands Gold Resort Village. Dausch oversaw
the Xanadu development for Mills Corp. until last year and is “one of at least
three former high-ranking Mills officials who have been hired,” along with EDWARD
VINSON and VICTORIA JENKINS (Bergen RECORD, 3/31).
FRANCHISE: Rockies Exec VP & GM DAN O’DOWD agreed to a two-year
extension through the ’09 season (Rockies)....The Angels promoted Insurance
Risk Manager DAVID COHEN to Dir of Legal & Risk Management (THE DAILY)....The
Dodgers named DIETRICH JACHE and CARLOS SINDE Group Sales Account
Execs and TREY MAGNUSON Scouting Coordinator (THE DAILY)....The
WNBA Silver Stars named OLAF LANGE Assistant Coordinator of Video Services
& Player Development (Silver Stars).
MEDIA: Action Sports Media (ASM) named Univ. of Tennessee Assistant AD
of Football Operations GERRY DICKEY Regional Accounts Manager. Dickey will
be based in Oklahoma City and will be responsible for managing in-venue sales
efforts in Boone-Pickens Stadium at Oklahoma State Univ. (ASM)....TSN hired
DANNY MCMANUS as a game analyst for its CFL broadcast team. McManus recently
retired from the league after 17 years (TSN).
