Jeff Krolik Leaving FSN Bay Area For Fox Sports Post
By John Ourand, Staff Writer
FSN Bay Area is looking for a new GM, now that Fox Sports hired JEFF KROLIK
away as Exec VP of Fox Sports Regional Networks. Krolik had been GM of the Bay
Area RSN since ’95. FSN Bay Area is in the midst of a transition, as it is one
of the RSNs Rainbow Media is looking to flip to Comcast. Rainbow holds a 60% stake.
VP/Programming TED GRIGGS will be acting GM while the RSN conducts a search.
In his new position, Krolik will report to Fox Sports Regional Networks President
RANDY FREER, who decided to bring Krolik over when Exec VP DAVID RONE
left FSN for CAA Sports. “That presented a good opportunity to reshuffle the deck,”
Freer said. Krolik will oversee the day-to-day operation of FSN’s RSNs, freeing
Freer up to focus on the total RSN business, including digital rights. Krolik
is leaving fans at his old gig, including MLB Giants Exec VP & COO LARRY BAER,
who worked with him for 11 years. “Jeff is an extraordinary television executive
who truly sees the big picture in broadcasting and sports television. He was a
tremendous business partner for the local teams.”
