GLENN MENARD, SMG’s GM for the Louisiana Superdome and New Orleans Arena, is leaving his position after about nine years to become a venue and special event consultant in Atlanta. Menard spent close to a week inside the Superdome in late August-early September ’05 after Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans and was recognized for his efforts to operate a building under duress that had become a shelter for 25,000 evacuees (Don Muret, SportsBusiness Journal).

UEFA: UEFA CEO LARS-CHRISTER OLSSON has resigned less than a week after LENNART JOHANSSON lost his re-election bid for UEFA President to MICHEL PLATINI. Olsson “had been Johansson’s right-hand man” (AP, 2/1).

FRANCHISE: The Devils named LESLIE WISER JR. Head of Security. Wiser is retiring as special agent in charge of the FBI’s Newark Division (STAR-LEDGER, 2/2)....The CFL Saskatchewan Roughriders named JOE WOMACK Dir of Player Personnel. For the past eight years, Womack has scouted in the NFL with the Eagles, Redskins and the NFL Combine (Roughriders).

EXECS: ANTHONY CARUSO was appointed co-Chair of Fox Rothschild’s Sports & Entertainment Law Department (Fox Rothschild)....The Marketing Arm named MARK WINNEKER VP/Business Development. Winneker previously served as Dir of Consulting for The Marketing Arm from ’99-’04 (The Marketing Arm)....Brand Promotions named MARK REAVES Senior Account Manager. Reaves will work out of the company’s Denver office and oversee the NASCAR programs for Toyota and Craftsman (Brand Promotions)....NBC Sports Associate Golf Producer JOHN GOLDSTEIN has left the network after 27 years. Meanwhile, Nike Golf named Gaylord Sports Management VP/Business Development MARLIN MUSCH College Amateur Golf Manager (GOLFWEEK, 2/3 issue)....TODD LEWIS, Sports Dir at Orlando’s WKMG-CBS, “will be leaving the station” when his contract expires this March (ORLANDO SENTINEL, 2/2).
