NFL Franchise Notes: Eagles Raising Ticket Prices In ’07

Eagles Raising Ticket Prices
At Lincoln Financial Field

The Eagles will raise ticket prices for the ’07 season. Lower-level and some premium seats will rise to $90 per game, from $80, while lower-level end zone seats will increase $10 to $75 and upper-level seats will increase $5 to $65. Eagles Ticket Manager Leo Carlin said, “Historically, about every 2 years we have adjusted our ticket prices to remain comparable to the league average for a team in our sized market” (PHILADELPHIA DAILY NEWS, 2/2).

CARDINALS TIX: The Cardinals will raise ticket prices $2-7.50 on all seats at Univ. of Phoenix Stadium. Over 12,000 seats will be $30 or less, including 5,000 $15 seats. Season tickets are sold out for the ’07 season, and a waiting list of almost 6,000 people exists (Cardinals). The average ticket price of $73.93 is up 11% from $66.71 in ’06, but is below the “projected NFL average of $81.66” (EAST VALLEY TRIBUNE, 2/2).

TAMPERING CHARGES DENIED: NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said the allegations by the Patriots that the Jets tampered during contract talks with WR Deion Branch, who eventually was traded to the Seahawks, “were not supported by the facts.” The Patriots claimed the Jets “did not keep trade talks solely between the teams” when they had permission to talk to Branch about a trade. The Patriots added that their “negotiating position had been compromised because Branch and his representatives knew what his market value was” (BOSTON GLOBE, 2/2).
