Let The Big Dog Hunt: PGA Tour Hits The Shores Of Maui
The PGA Tour begins a new era today, as the ’07 season tees off with the Mercedes-Benz Championship in Maui, marking the start of the Tour’s new FedEx Cup points and playoff format, as well its new 15-year exclusive cable deal with Golf Channel. Our special section today includes a look at FedEx’ activation efforts around its new title sponsorship, a One-on-One with Golf Channel announcer Kelly Tilghman, a talk about int’l efforts with the PGA Tour’s Ty Votaw, a listing of the top ten golfers’ endorsements, and a roundtable conversation with two venerable golf writers. We also offer previews on the FedEx Cup and Golf Channel’s first year as the cable home of the Tour from news outlets from around the country.
