Speed Channel And Fox To
Air F1 Races Through ‘09 |
Speed Channel and Fox are expected to announce an F1 broadcast rights deal through
’09, according to A.J. Perez of USA TODAY. Speed will air a total of 13 events,
including the first five of the season, while the Canadian Grand Prix and the
U.S. Grand Prix will be carried by Fox. The broadcast booth for F1 coverage will
consist of Bob Varsha, David Hobbs and Steve Matchett (USA TODAY, 11/24).
FOUR SQUARE: In Charlotte, David Poole reported Speed is looking for four
NASCAR fans to participate in the “Speed Road Tour Challenge,” in which the fans
will go to 13 races, beginning with the ’07 Daytona 500, and compete for prizes.
The grand prize will include an “offer to join the ‘tour’ for the rest of the
season.” Open auditions will be held December 9 at Michael Waltrip Racing’s HQ
in North Carolina. The show is scheduled to debut February 22 (CHARLOTTE OBSERVER,
11/23).
