OVER & OUT: A federal jury in Jacksonville ruled that PGA Tour rules officials
“are administrative employees and exempt from overtime pay.” The decision “is
a victory for the PGA Tour, the defendant in the civil suit brought by 14 former
and current rules officials.” The rules officials have been working without a
contract since ’03 “and are expected to appeal” (GOLF WORLD, 11/10 issue).
SEPARATION OF CHURCH & STATE: Franklin County (OH) has delayed the final
vote tally in four election contests including its Congressional race until November
19, a day after it is eligible to start the count, as officials “don’t plan to
be open for business” on November 18 because of the MICHIGAN-OHIO STATE
football game. Franklin County Board of Elections Dir MATTHEW DAMSCHRODER:
“Our goal is to accommodate our employees’ plans for both the OSU football game
