Musburger To Host ESPN's NASCAR Broadcasts |
Jerry Punch will serve as play-by-play announcer for ESPN’s NASCAR coverage next season, with Brent Musburger serving as host of the broadcasts. As previously noted, Rusty Wallace and former NASCAR team owner and crew chief Andy Petree will serve as analysts in the booth. Allen Bestwick, Dave Burns, Jamie Little and Mike Massaro will serve as pit reporters. ESPN will air a pre-race show titled “NASCAR Countdown” before all Nextel Cup and Busch series races on ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC. Musburger will be the host of the program for all races on ABC, as well as select races on ESPN, including the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard. “NASCAR Now,” a daily program solely dedicated to the sport, will debut February 5 on ESPN2 and will air Monday-Friday. Among those to be featured on “Now” is former NASCAR owner Brad Daugherty, former crew chief Frank Stoddard and Shannon Spake. Daugherty and Stoddard will join Musburger from the pit studio during “Countdown” shows and during race telecasts (ESPN).
