Bruins Increasing Price Of Most Tickets
|
Prices for the majority of Bruins tickets “will be ratcheted up a notch or two” for the ’06-07 season, according to Steve Conroy of the BOSTON HERALD. Bruins Exec VP Charlie Jacobs said tickets in the center and corner loges will increase by $5 each to $85 and $78, respectively, with prices increasing to $100 and $89 on game day. Balcony seats will increase up to $2, though the upper balcony will feature tickets for $10 and $19, unchanged from last year. Jacobs said ticket prices “didn’t go up last year, they went down, and the year before that (’03-04), they didn’t go up, either. So it’s been a while since we’ve had an increase.” Conroy noted Bruins ticket prices “ranked among the highest in the league last year” despite the team having won one playoff series in 11 years (BOSTON HERALD, 8/27). Jacobs said that the team “has been considering ways to ease the price shock for the front-row patrons,” whose tickets will go up an undisclosed amount from the previous $90. Among the possible concessions could be to allow those fans to “select a number of games to purchase for the upcoming season ... then sell the other games through the box office.” Jacobs added that front-row season-ticket holders will also have “access to an amenity package” (BOSTON GLOBE, 8/27).
