Rosenhaus Reps “The King” In New Spots For NFL Sponsor BK

By Paul Sanford, Television Editor

Burger King last night broke a 30-second ad featuring football agent Drew Rosenhaus that parodies the press conference Rosenhaus held last year with his client, Terrell Owens, where Rosenhaus continually said, “Next question.” The spot, via Crispin Porter + Bogusky, Miami, opens with Rosenhaus in front of reporters with Burger King’s “King” character –- who appeared as an NFL player in several ads last year. The bottom of the screen reads, “Drew Rosenhaus” and “The King’s agent.” A reporter off-screen asks, “Is it true the King is holding out because he’s got a big head?” Rosenhaus: “Next question.” Another reporter asked, “The King’s teammates are saying that after last year’s breakout season, his head has gotten bigger.” Rosenhaus: “Next question.” Reporter: “Is it true that your client -– The King — wants to be called ‘TK?’” Rosenhaus: “Next question.” Reporter: “The success of the Double Whopper also made his head big, or bigger than it is.” Rosenhaus looks at the reporter with a perplexed gaze while The King points to his eyes and then to the reporter, in essence saying, “I see you and know who you are.” A “Breaking News” scroll at the bottom of the screen read, “Will The King play in the NFL this season? Sources say The King is close to signing with 5 NFL teams. The King was an undrafted free agent last season. 2005-2006 Fantasy Football stats: 3 REC 1 INT 1 RET 5 TDS.” The ad ends with the announcer saying, “This season, The King is bringing it.”

DETAILS: The ad, shot last month, is airing on NBC, Fox, CBS, the WB and in syndication. It is running on late night and sports programming and is scheduled to run this week only.
