Coyotes Adding All-Inclusive Package For Rinkside Seats

By Don Muret, Staff Writer, SportsBusiness Journal

Coyotes To Launch Rinkside Club
For Ticket Holders In First Two Rows

The Coyotes are spending $500,000 to convert the event-level club at Glendale Arena into an all-inclusive package for 375 season-ticket holders sitting in the first two rows around the ice. The Rinkside Club, the working title for the 4,200-square-foot space formerly known as the Ice Lounge, previously was available to 1,200 ticket holders in four seating sections on the arena’s east side. Food was an additional cost. The new all-inclusive deal includes an Aramark buffet, one VIP parking pass for every two Rinkside Club seats, one free suite night for 12 people, a personalized Coyotes jersey and other amenities. The club is located outside the Coyotes’ locker room.

INCREASED PRICES: The Coyotes are generating incremental revenue to help pay for the renovation by increasing season-ticket prices by $50 a seat for patrons sitting in the two rows nearest the ice for the ’06-07 season. People sitting in the first row will now pay $250 a game, and fans in the second row pay $175 a game. Coyotes Corporate Communications Manager Heather Van Peursem said there are about 30 seats left to sell in the first two rows. The day-of-game price for the tickets this season is $300 for Row A and $225 for Row B. “The club in the old format was not maximizing revenues, and we have seen the demand for these all-inclusive packages elsewhere,” said Coyotes Senior VP & CMO Mike Bucek. “The response has been great.” The new format required the team to relocate season-ticket holders near the ice that did not want the all-inclusive component, Bucek said.
NEW LOOK: The club decor shifts from a nightclub environment to a sports and entertainment atmosphere. The revamped interior walls will contain photographs from events the building has hosted since it opened in December ’03. The upgraded club should be open by the Coyotes’ October 5 regular-season home opener, and Bucek said the team plans to sell naming rights to the upgraded space.
