RBS Experienced? Bank Expands Interactive Display

By Scott Hamilton, Staff Writer, SportsBusiness Journal

RBS Expanding Its Golf Experience
To Two Sites For PGA Championship
The Royal Bank of Scotland is expanding its RBS Golf Experience to two sites for this month's PGA Championship. RBS will once again set up an interactive display in N.Y. as it did during the British Open in July, this time at the World Financial Center. It will also set up shop at Pioneer Court in Chicago, just miles from the event at Medinah Country Club. The display will be up throughout the four-round event, which will run August 17-20. The two sites will each be held on large stages with 46' x 20' manual leaderboards flanked by 13' x 10' video screens showing live coverage of the tournament. A 22' x 22' putting green will be erected, along with four large nets into which patrons can hit golf balls. Golden Bear Golf, which is owned by RBS endorser Jack Nicklaus, will provide the equipment for the display. A Golf Magazine top-100 instructor will be on hand that Thursday to give tips for up to five hours at each site. IMG Live, the event management division of marketing giant IMG that is operating the display, hopes to duplicate the success of last month's display at Foley Square in N.Y. during which more than 6,400 people participated.
