CTV Inc. named GORD CUTLER NHL Network Exec Producer. Cutler was at Fox from ’95-’06, where he launched the network’s NHL coverage, and was also involved with the production of NBC’s Olympic coverage. Cutler also worked at TSN from ’86-98 (TSN). Cutler “will become responsible for the running of the NHL Network” (HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, 7/8).

TRAVEL AGENCY: SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL’s Liz Mullen reports Creative Artists Agency has hired Players Inc. VP/Players Marketing HOWARD SKALL. His title has not been decided “but he will work to find marketing and other off-field business opportunities for clients” of agent TOM CONDON (SBJ, 7/10 issue)....In a separate piece, Mullen reports Octagon has hired former NHLPA Associate Counsel IAN PULVER as a consultant “under exclusive contract to oversee salary arbitration for its more than 80 NHL player clients” (SBJ, 7/10 issue).

EXECS: MSG Network VP/PR ERIC GELFAND has resigned, effective later this month, to join Sports Capital Partners, the group led by DAVE CHECKETTS that recently purchased the Blues (N.Y. POST, 7/9)....The PGA Tour hired PAUL VOLEN as Dir New Media — Strategic Development. Volen was previously Yahoo GM & VP/Product Management & Marketing and Content Match VP/Partner Product Marketing (PGA Tour).
