NBC To Run Sports Comedy Show After Sunday Night NFL Games
NBC O&Os and affils are set to air a sports comedy series, called “Sports Action Team,” after the net’s Sunday night NFL telecasts this fall, according to Kimberly Nordyke of the HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. The show, which was produced by Chicago-based Towers Productions, will be “semi-scripted” and feature “improv actors and comedians as a hapless team of sports reporters” meeting with “real-world professional and amateur athletes, managers, fans and celebrities.” The show will also have “an online component, with exclusive short-form programming” (HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, 7/10).
