Olbermann (l) To Be Reunited With
Patrick On ESPN’s “SportsCenter?”

Agent Barry Frank, who reps former NFLer Deion Sanders, said that Sanders “met with ESPN executives Tuesday to discuss a role on the network’s NFL coverage.” In N.Y., Andrew Marchand notes Michael Irvin and Steve Young are still “in contract negotiations” for ESPN’s Sunday pregame show. Meanwhile, an ESPN spokesperson said there are “no plans” for Keith Olbermann to expand his role with ESPN. Olbermann currently appears each afternoon on Dan Patrick’s ESPN Radio talk show. But Patrick said, “My feeling is somewhere down the road we will do ‘SportsCenter’ together” (N.Y. POST, 3/17).

NOTES: In L.A., Larry Stewart reports the Angels “have not said yes” to FSN West’s TV rights contract offer, “believed to be comparable to the 10-year, $340[M] deal the Dodgers reportedly signed last year.” FSN West GM Steve Simpson: “We’re still in negotiations” (L.A. TIMES, 3/17)....KCTV-CBS has signed a two-year deal to continue broadcasting Chiefs preseason games (K.C. STAR, 3/17).... TSN will not air Champ Car World Series races this season, “citing diminishing ratings and a schedule that would have resulted in tape-delaying coverage” (TORONTO STAR, 3/17).
